Ruckman Stefan Martin and our key mids are playing a crucial role in this improvement, with Martin ranked 3rd in the AFL for hitouts (behind Freemantle's Sandilands and GWS's Mumford) and 4 Lions in the Top 50 for average clearances:

- Martin at 18th
- Zorko at 26th
- Beams at 44th
Whilst the team still have a lot of work to do with their ball use to convert clearances into scores, the stat improvement is encouraging.
We lost clearances overall by 1 on the weekend against the Bulldogs, but won our second, more dominant, quarter by 6.
