Tom Rockliff is confident that his injury interrupted pre-season is behind him.

The 26-year-old missed all three NAB Challenge matches but will line-up for the Lions in their opening round match against the West Coast Eagles tomorrow.

"I'm ready to go. I've ticked all the boxes I needed to the last fortnight.

"It would have been nice to play that last NAB game but unfortunately it wasn't the way it panned out. I just had a minor tweak in the back - that's all fine now."

The Captain expects a little friendly banter with good friend and former teammate Jack Redden who will play his first match for the Eagles.

"There will be no doubt a little bit of chat thrown his way. Obviously Jack and I got on really well.

"We were housemates for a number of years so it will be interesting to play against him. I'm sure a few of the boys will have a couple of words to say.

"It will all be in good fun."

The West Coast Eagles will be without five players from last year's grand final.

"They're obviously a grand final team from last year so you can't take them lightly from that point of view.

"But we're more than confident that we've got a team that can go out there and match them through the midfield and hopefully we can get the ball inside 50 and give ourselves a chance to score.

"The boys are up and about. It's been a long pre-season. I'm looking forward to it."
