Those guests who were fortunate enough to attend last Saturday night’s Hall of Fame Dinner in Melbourne would’ve come away from the function inspired, and entertained, by the stories shared by the Club’s past champions.

And how couldn’t you be, with the Brisbane Lions honouring eight new Hall of Fame inductees, and unveiling a new ‘King of the Pride’ from the past decade.

Much celebrated names such as Pert, Rendell, Akermanis, Power, and Black recounted their own experiences as a player, and the challenges they were able to overcome to achieve greatness.

Simon Black, who won’t be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame until 2018, joined an even more exclusive group after being voted by his peers as the player of the decade from 2007-2016.

To commemorate his latest achievement, the Club has produced a one-of-a-kind memorabilia piece, featuring Black’s limited edition ‘Black Out’ guernsey from 2013 which was personally signed by the 2002 Brownlow Medallist on the night.

The Simon Black King of the Pride one-of-a-kind memorabillia piece up for auction.
