In 2016 Harris Andrews continued his rise as a star of the Brisbane Lions’ defence.
In just his second year, the 19-year-old was often required to take on the top forwards in the competition.
At the start of his third pre-season, Andrews has come back bigger, fitter and ready to make the most of the pre-season.
Archie's desire to be no.1 man
“I focused on my running (during the off-season). I really wanted to get fit so when we came back we could get into that skills work instead of having to do a lot of boundary running,” Andrews told LionsTV.
“I did a lot of running with the boys that were up in Brisbane and did the weights program that was prescribed to make sure I came back in pretty good nick.”
The Lions’ first to fourth year players, as well as some of the Club’s senior players including Dayne Zorko and Daniel Rich, were met with humid conditions at Yeronga this morning.
“(I want to) continue to build strength and that endurance base and obviously work on skills and the teamwork within the backline and the whole team defence.
“It’s going to be a long couple of months but I’m sure the boys will be working hard to improve for the start of the season.”
