EIGHT FORMER LIONS will pull on the boots for this year's annual EJ Whitten Legends Game.
The match, in its 20th year, celebrates and honours the life of the great Ted Whitten who passed away from prostate cancer in 1995.
The foundation has raised more than $8.5 million since its inception.
2003 Lions premiership players Mal Michael, Darryl White and Martin Pike will form part of the All-Stars’ team that will take on a Victorian side featuring fellow premiership teammates Chris Johnson and Jonathan Brown.
Brown will line-up for his first ever Legends game.
Former Bears and Lions player Richard Champion will represent the All-Stars and Brent Moloney and Brendan Fevola will pull on the Big V for Victoria.
The Legends Game between the Vics and the All Stars brings together retired AFL players, comedians and celebrities from across the country.
Tickets for next Tuesday’s match (June, 30, 7:30pm) at Etihad Stadium are available through Ticketmaster or at the gate.
The match will be broadcast LIVE on Channel Nine in all Southern States (WA, SA, VIC and TAS), as well as in NT.
