Leading into his second pre-season at the Brisbane Lions, Ben Keays has set the bar high for 2017.
The hard-working youngster played 16 matches in his debut season for the Club, and is doing the extras to build on an impressive first year.
“I’ve been working on my kicking,” Keays told LionsTV following training.
“I’m very left side dominant at the moment, so I’m just trying to work on my right foot and get that involved a little bit more in my game and be a bit more clean and not fumbling.”
“Goal kicking is a big focus. Coming off last year playing as a forward, I missed a few shots unfortunately. I’ve made that a big focus and all the boys have as well working on our snaps and set shots. Hopefully that will hold us in good stead for next year.”
The Lions’ first to fourth year players, as well as some of the Club’s senior players including Tom Rockliff, Dayne Zorko and Daniel Rich, trained at Yeronga this morning.
“Tackling has been a focus from the start and more handballing under pressure stuff. We’re continuing to work on that and also a lot of kicking drills left and right foot. That’s been a big focus early on.”
