The year is 1992, it’s round five of the AFL competition and Carrara stadium is alive as the Brisbane Bears and West Coast Eagles battle it out for the win.

The Eagles have just scored, and it’s looking like it’s all over for Bears, when all of a sudden Ray Windsor takes a mark, 35 meters out from the goals.

He takes off running, eager to score before the buzzer, which is closing in.

The buzzer sounds and Windsor sends a goal flying through the posts from a 30-degree angle.

The whistle goes, and the scoreboard reads 14.13 (92), a draw for the Bears and the Eagles.

Ray Windsor, Brisbane’s savior, was playing his tenth game for the Brisbane Bears at just 19 years old, when he kicked the saving goal.

Windsor defines his last minute goal as his only highlight from his 23-game career with the Brisbane Bears.

Windsor is one of only six players in AFL history, to ever kick a goal after the siren to draw a game.
