Jordon Bourke will have season ending surgery this week after receiving the results of scans in the wake of the Reserves loss to Sydney University at Blacktown on Sunday.

Physical Performance Coordinator, Matt Hass, told the Bupa Recovery Report, the 20-year old tore his meniscus, the same injury that has sidelined defender Claye Beams for the remainder of the season.

“Bourkey tore his meniscus playing in the twos. He’ll be out unfortunately for the rest of the season. He’ll have surgery in the next few days.”

Bourke was upgraded to the senior list in June and played five consecutive games (Round 10 – Round 15) before being omitted for last weekend’s match against Melbourne.

Josh McGuinness is also likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the season after scans confirmed a stress reaction is his foot.

“Josh had a stress reaction in his foot – his fifth metatarsal. It showed up on the scans yesterday, he’ll be out for a couple of weeks and being so close to the end of the season it could cost him the rest of his season.

“It’s bad news for those two boys.”

The injuries continue the Club’s shocking run of luck in 2015, with a host of players sidelined during the season.

Meanwhile Pearce Hanley will be put through a fitness test after being subbed out in the loss to the Dees.

“Pearcey was subbed out a little earlier than we would have liked.

“He had a back related hamstring discomfort. He was tightening up through the hamstring. He’s had that in previous weeks and it was fairly back related,” Hass said.

“He’ll train this week and be put through a fitness test.”

Hass is confident midfielder Dayne Beams will be available to take on North Melbourne on Saturday night.

“Binga landed fairly heavily and sublaxed his shoulder”, Hass said.

“It popped out and back in, obviously he’s fairly sore from that. He’s been carrying the shoulder for a couple of weeks now.

“It’s definitely more sore than it has been, but he should be right this weekend.”
