BRISBANE LIONS Physical Performance Coordinator Matt Hass says Pearce Hanley is tracking well in his rehabilitation program.
The 26-year old underwent hip surgery in early February.
“Pearce is off crutches, he’s moving around quite freely now.”
“He had his first run on our Alter G treadmill – which is the treadmill where we can alter the amount of body weight he’s running at. He pulled up really well and has started to do some walking drills on the ground”, Hass said
“He’s feeling really good about his rehab. He’s on track for the bye.”
Meanwhile, defender Darcy Gardiner will be available to play this Saturday against Collingwood - he was cleared of any major damage to his shoulder after coming from the field against the Gold Coast Suns a fortnight ago and took part in the main skills session yesterday.
“There certainly has been a bit of hype especially playing Collingwood – round one up here at The Gabba. But we’ll keep it all business as usual; the schedule doesn’t change a whole lot”, Hass said.
“We’ll just try to keep the boys in routine, make sure that they can relax, go through the motions and do what they know.”
“They’re very excited and ready to rip in.”
