Fans were treated to an exciting NEAFL encounter on Saturday at the Gabba, with the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants playing out the first draw of the 2018 NEAFL season.
"It was a bit strange. I don't know how the soccer teams do it when they walk away with a draw. Am I happy or am I not happy?" Borlace said.
"We were probably a bit disappointed with the result given the personnel we had on the park."
The Lions appeared to be the stronger of the two sides after halftime, but couldn't capitalise on the forward chances they had.
"We had a really good opportunity in the third quarter - we had it inside 50 22 times and only kicked 3.7 from those entries."
"They went inside 50 eight times and kicked 4.3. That really let us down...our efficiency going inside 50.
"Their pressure was good and they do defend one-on-one. It was more us missing our options and blazing away at times that cost us."
Unfortunately for the Lions, new recruit Tom Fullarton strained his calf in the first quarter and sat out the remainder of the match. Fullarton looks set to be sidelined for three-four weeks.
Classy midfielder Corey Lyons was also injured (fractured hand) and will miss three weeks.
"Tom started the game really well. It's disappointing for Tom and for us that he got injured."
"Corey was playing really well on the weekend as well. He is a hard worker who is really trying to develop his game."
