Brisbane Lions v Carlton Blues
Sunday, 10 March at 4.05pm AEDT
IKON Park, Melbourne
First-year Jade Ellenger will become the ninth Brisbane Lions AFLW debutant in 2019 when she dons the maroon, blue and gold this Sunday.
Ellenger has been named in the Lions' backline set to take on Carlton at Ikon Park.
Drafted at Pick No. 72 in 2018, Coach Craig Starcevich says Ellenger will bring versatility to the Lions side.
"Jade has shown us in practice matches that she can be extremely versatile," Starcevich said.
"She brings a lot of speed and mainly plays as a small defender and occasional winger."
Lions fan can look forward to seeing third-year player Sharni Webb return on Sunday.
After three weeks sidelined with a foot stress fracture, Round 6 sees Webb return to the forward-line.
"Sharni started some running last week and went back into fulll skills this week," Starcevich said.
"She had a bone stress fracture in her foot and just needed a couple of weeks off the foot to allow for recovery.
"We're keen to get her back into our group as she's a highly versatile player too."
Nat Grider and Arianna Clarke have been omitted from the side, named as emergencies.
Entry to Sunday's clash at Ikon Park is free and bounce is 4.05pm AEDT.
The match will be broadcasted live on 7Mate in Brisbane and Fox Footy nation-wide.
