Sadly, the Polka Specials were knocked out of the minor premiership comp this round and that’s me finished Dream Team for the year!
I’d like to blame it on Buddy Franklin, who I didn’t end up trading, but to tell you the truth, my team just underperformed across the board. I only had five scores over a hundred!
It was a great win for the Lions this week - I’d have to say the best win for the year. To come back from a 38-point deficit showed just how much character we do have in this group.
And of course, along with a winning score comes winning DT scores! Jacky Redden absolutely ran riot on the weekend and finished up with 121 points. I think he will definitely be a one-club player at the Polka Specials in years to come.
There weren’t any other Lions players to crack a hundred this week - but we did have seven blokes in the 80-100 range, which just goes to show the even spread of the load out there on Saturday.
Despite my early exit from the comp, I’ll still be watching with interest to see how things progress in the Lions comp.
