Justin Leppitsch is aware of the ongoing drama at the Board level of the Brisbane Lions and he believes it won’t have any long-lasting effects on the football club.

In a very balanced and intelligent display, Leppitsch spoke of the Brisbane Lions as an organisation that he was keen to help stabilise, in the midst of the boardroom feud.

“One thing I know is that we are building and are going to build a really good organisation,” Leppitsch said

“What happens today is not going to matter in three years time, so I sit here now very comfortable with what’s going on.”

“To be perfectly honest, my job is to coach the football team, but I still understand within that you need a stable organisation and the Club’s very aware of that and that’s going to happen.”

“The future’s very positive for the Club in that things will sort out and we will drive towards our next Premiership.”

The assistant coach of seven years spoke clearly and had a clear, confident direction of where he wants to take the Brisbane Lions.

And in light of this, it seems Lions’ fans have welcomed the appointment of the former Lion who helped Richmond concede their lowest number of goals (252) in a season since 1969.

“I am extremely excited at what Leppa will add to our Club and can't wait for the coming months and the many exciting changes that come along with it,” Luke Edwards wrote on the Brisbane Lions Facebook page.

“Certainly sounds like he has a good handle on things, comes across as intelligent, thoughtful and humble,” wrote Kim Harvey.

Leppitsch is already hard at work preparing for 2014, but won’t take full control of the Lions’ players until pre-season training gets underway on November 4.
