Before I kick off this week’s Q&A, I’m very happy to announce that Chase Ashley McGrath was born yesterday and the little fella is doing great (that’s why my column is a day late - had slightly more important stuff on yesterday).

So I just wanted to say thanks to you all for all the well wishes that you’ve sent into the Club.

Question: Hello Ash, I have always wondered, do you have any arguments in the club over which music to listen to during the indoor training? Thanks, I Love the Lions!

Brent Staker always plays this ridiculous music which is the kind of thing that you’d play if you were trying to woo a girl. He loves the lovey-dovey music. It’s pretty off-putting when you’re trying to do weights. His iPod is usually the first one to get the flick.

Hi Fraser, I played at Nyabing Footy Club, then the Kent Districts Hawks, then before I came to Brisbane I played for South Fremantle. My brother still plays there to this day.

Yeah, I miss guys like Daryl White, Chris Johnson, Richard Hadley and Nigel Lappin. There’s a lot I could name but people move on for different reasons.

There’s a lot of up-and-comers here. I can’t name them all - that’s the good thing about our young kids in the reserves, they’re all playing so well and really pushing for a senior spot, and putting the heat on the seniors to perform.

No way John. I think it’s a lot of trouble, this Twitter thing! A lot of boys seem to be getting themselves into trouble and saying things they shouldn’t. You won’t see me there any time soon.

Question: Hi Ash, what do u think of Dayne Zorko? Has he fit in well? and whats his work rate like through training?

Zorks has fit in well. His work rate is extremely high. He’s a fun-loving and high-energy bloke, and gets on well with everyone. He’s not doing too bad on the footy field either.

Question: Hey Ash, I remember in my football playing heyday we trained on Tuesday & Thursday nights. Obviously you train a bit more in the big league. When do you guys train now? Is there also morn/evening sessions dependant on when you're playing that week?

Hi Damo, correct - we train at different times of the day. Usually it’s in the morning around the 10am mark. In summer we start earlier because it’s so hot here in Brisbane. Occasionally we’ll have a run in the evening to get that dewy feeling! But we are all at the Club pretty well every day whether it’s training on the field or meeting up with our coaches or doing gym work.
