The Brisbane Lions are thrilled to announce Kevin Wise and Dianne Collins as the latest inductees into the Members’ Hall of Fame.

The Members’ Hall of Fame was introduced in 2007 and has seen two members inducted each year – as determined by a panel including the Club’s Senior Coach, Chief Executive Officer and Membership Manager.

With so many worthy nominees, the final decision ultimately comes down to the person who is judged to have gone above and beyond with their support for the Lions over a period of time.

KEVIN WISE

A loyal Victorian-based member since the Fitzroy days, you would be hard pressed not to find Kevin Wise at any of the Club’s major functions – regardless of which state it’s being held.

Kevin generally brings a healthy entourage along to the Lions’ Victorian events, and will also regularly make the trip to Brisbane to ensure he’s part of every occasion.

He even ignored doctors’ orders earlier this year and flew to Queensland to attend the 3-Peat Anniversary Luncheon, despite undergoing a hip replacement just a few weeks earlier.

Not only does he attend all the team’s matches played in Victoria, but he also maintains a strong involvement at grassroots level with Balwyn Football Club – the same club that produced former triple premiership star, Luke Power.

He’s also a strong supporter of the Player Sponsorship program – taking out a total of 16 Victorian sponsorships in 2013!

Kevin has played a role in helping preserve the Club’s rich history, and remains as one of only a select few Life Patrons of the Fitzroy-Brisbane Lions Historical Society.

DIANNE COLLINS

People might recognise Dianne Collins as the woman who promotes her love of all things Lions on social media (you can follow her on Twitter @LionsDi), but she’s just as passionate in person!

Di celebrated her 15th straight season as a member in 2013, and rewarded herself with interstate trips to Melbourne and Darwin to see her favourite team live.

In fact, she travels from Hervey Bay to Brisbane for every home game, including reserves matches – she hasn’t missed a game for two years – and even made special trips down for the NEAFL finals series to help make the team’s banner.

She regularly attends the Club’s annual events such as the Club Champion Dinner and Gala Auction, and has no hesitation in heading south when the Lions host a major event in Melbourne – such as the 2012 Hall of Fame celebration.

An active member of the ‘Lioness Pride’ group, she forms part of the syndicate that sponsors Dayne Zorko and Claye Beams – and has also sponsored Jesse O’Brien herself for a number of consecutive years.
