AFTER throwing in the towel against Adelaide at the weekend, the Brisbane Lions are hell-bent on ruining Collingwood's finals aspirations at the MCG on Saturday night, says vice-captain Tom Rockliff.

After winning five of their previous nine matches, the Lions totally capitulated against the Crows on Sunday, conceding nine final quarter goals to lose by 105 points.

But ahead of his 100th match, Rockliff says they have quickly put the result behind them and turned their attention to the Magpies.

Collingwood dropped outside the top-eight following Sunday's 60-point loss against West Coast and must win its final three matches to qualify for the finals.

"I think we threw in the white towel a bit," Rockliff said of the Adelaide result.

"It was disappointing the last 15 minutes … they put on eight or nine goals, which is never acceptable.

"It turns a 50 or 60-point loss into a 100-plus point loss. It wasn't ideal and the boys know that.

"You've got to move on pretty quick. We can't make the finals, but we've got a feeling we can shape it in the last three weeks."

Following Collingwood, the Lions host Fremantle in round 22 and finish with a trip to Geelong in the last round.

Ironically, Rockliff's milestone match will be against the same opponent at the same venue as his debut in 2009.

He said it was a good time to get the wobbling Magpies, but they had to address a number of worrying areas stemming from the Crows loss.

Adelaide won the contested ball (153-122), clearances (47-30) and tackles (61-46), but Rockliff was confident of a reversal.

"They had a tough game over in Perth and are coming off a six-day break as well," he said.

"We feel like it's a good opportunity to go down there and put our best foot forward and play a good style of footy.

"We want to limit their scoring opportunities and then give our forwards a chance to score.

"You love the opportunity to impact on finals teams and to make sure they know we're here."
