The Brisbane Lions are getting behind and supporting our Official Health Partner, Bupa, in raising awareness of the risks of heart disease in women through their Heart Salute (#heartsalute) Campaign, in conjunction with the Heart Foundation.
Heart disease kills approximately 25 women in Australia every day, making it the single biggest killer of females, yet just one in three are aware of its risk.
In addition to raising awareness of the risks of heart disease, Bupa is also raising $50,000 for the Heart Foundation.
Join our Brisbane Lions’ boys and help us get to that target by showing your support by posting a #heartsalute on twitter or Instagram during Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne.
For every social media post on Twitter or Instagram using hashtag #heartsalute at tomorrow night’s game at the Gabba, Bupa will donate $1 towards the $50,000 target.
Jonathan Brown and Pearce Hanley have already shared their #heartsalute to help raise awareness for women’s heart health as part of a national TV ad campaign
Do the same as our Lions and help raise awareness by showing us who is important to you - your wife, daughter, sister, mother, partner or friends - during the game.
How to give a #heartsalute
Draw a red heart on the palm of your hand, and/or simply post a message of support to the special women in your life, by tagging them in a social media post on Instagram or Twitter with the hash tag #heartsalute.
1. Remember to include the hash tag #heartsalute and tag the important women in your life. By doing so you are making them aware of heart disease and making people more aware of this significant health issue.
2. Visit heartsalute.com.au to learn more about steps you can take to a healthier heart.
