The Brisbane Lions are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dean Bailey.
Brisbane Lions CEO Malcolm Holmes paid tribute to Bailey and his contribution to the game.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Dean Bailey’s family, friends and the Adelaide Football Club at this time,” said Mr Holmes.
“Dean was an enormous contributor to our game over many years, including three years growing the game in Queensland coaching Mt Gravatt.
“Many young men have benefited from the role Dean played in their life as a mentor and a coach and he will be greatly missed.”
Brisbane Lions midfielder, Brent Moloney, paid homage to Bailey via Twitter this morning, saying:
“He’s one of the best blokes I’ve met in football. He became a real father figure for me and we will miss him dearly.”
