Dayne Zorko will be available to line-up against North Melbourne this Saturday despite being charged with a level two striking offence by the AFL Match Review Panel on Monday.
Zorko was cited for an incident involving Gold Coast defender Tom Murphy during the first quarter of last Saturday’s QClash at the Gabba.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Gold Coast Suns Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and groin contact (two points).
This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
With no existing good or bad record, Zorko took an early guilty plea which reduced the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
Meanwhile, Lions Co-Captain Jonathan Brown doesn’t have any case to answer for a ‘clumsy’ high tackle on Gold Coast’s David Swallow during Saturday night’s QClash.
The incident was assessed by the AFL Match Review Panel on Monday, who later deemed it to be “a legitimate attempt to tackle and was not a striking motion”.
Lions Senior Coach Michael Voss had earlier been dumbfounded by the scrutiny surrounding his skipper.
"Oh, please. That's my response. Seriously, have you seen the incident?" Voss asked when questioned about Brown.
