The Brisbane Lions recently launched an exciting, new online fan platform for its fans - Lions Rewards.

The platform, the first of its kind in the AFL and free to join, gives fans an incentive to interact with the Club online, rewarding them for simply talking about the Lions on social media.

And it’s popularity has become evident already – since launching in late June, over 800 Lions’ fans have joined the Club’s digital cheer squad.

So how does it work? Fans can simply earn points based on how they engage with the Club on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

They can then redeem these points for fantastic prizes, or use them to enter exclusive Lions’ competitions.

Fans that tweet, post, tag and gram their way towards the title of the most active Lions’ Fan on social media, can keep track of their ranking on the weekly Lions Rewards Leader board.  

The platform provides a great opportunity for future commercialisation opportunities for the Club and a unique way for partners of the Club to engage with fans and activate in the social media space with measurable outcomes.
