Draft Countdown: No.25
The Lions have held Pick No.25 at the Draft five times in the past nine years
Although many Lions fans were left asking “Jack who?” following his recruitment, Redden has since gone on to be one of the best performed Pick No.25’s in recent history.
He’s played 98 straight senior AFL matches since making his debut in Round 15 of 2009 – finishing top five in the Club Best and Fairest in each of the past four seasons.
But Redden isn’t the only player to have been drafted to the Club with that particular selection recently.
In fact, the Lions have held Pick No.25 at the AFL National Draft five times in the past nine years.
Other players to have been drafted with those picks include Wayde Mills (16 games), Tom Collier (27 games), and Patrick Karnezis (21 games).
Nick Stevens is probably the most highly credentialed Pick No.25, having played 231 games with Port Adelaide and Carlton.
How the Lions intend to use the selection this year will probably depend on how the cards fall with their first two picks (Pick No.7 and No.22).
