The Brisbane Lions have continued their unbeaten start to 2019 with a dominant victory over the Sydney Swans by 71 points at South Pine Sports Complex.
The Lions were unstoppable from the first bounce scoring seven goals in the opening quarter; marching towards a 17.19 (121) to 8.2 (50) win with 18 AFL-listed players against Sydney's 12.
The Lions first half domination was due to their inside 50 numbers, finishing the first quarter with a 20 to 4 inside 50 count.
For Brisbane, the result was very much a team effort. The goals were spread evenly with four players finishing with two majors and Jacob Allison and Keidean Coleman three each.

Seven Lions finished the match with 20 disposals or more in an effort that will make coach Mitch Hahn pleased.
Josh Walker was also prominent in his return to the NEAFL, doing his chances of an AFL recall no harm with a solid display throughout.
Allison continued his outstanding season with a team-high 26 disposals, plus 11 marks six inside 50s and three majors.
For the Swans it was the usual suspects of James Rose and James Rowbottom who were the main possession getters in the defeat.
Rose had 33 disposals, 11 marks, nine clearances and seven inside 50s, with Rowbottom finishing with 24 disposals.
For both teams next weekend it’s a rivalry round, the top of the table Lions begin preparations for a Q Clash next weekend against the SUNS at Metricon Stadium, and the Swans take on the GIANTS at Blacktown on Sunday.
