The Brisbane Lions have made two changes to the lineup for this Saturday night’s match against Geelong at the Gabba as they prepare to celebrate Club veteran Simon Black’s 300th AFL match.

Forward James Polkinghorne has been recalled after a minor ankle complaint saw him withdrawn late from last weekend’s QClash 3, while fans are sure to be delighted to see Patrick Karnezis line up for his first game of the season.

Karnezis became an instant fan favourite when he debuted last year and managed to kick two goals with his first two kicks of senior AFL.

Recent form in the reserves, including a 38-disposal performance against Broadbeach, has impressed the Lions’ selection committee, and Karnezis will be looking to contribute to the Lions’ new-look forward line against a tough opponent in Geelong.

Polkinghorne and Karnezis have been named in place of Sam Sheldon and Ryan Harwood, who have both been omitted.
