The Brisbane Lions will take on the Western Bulldogs in the final game of the 2012 home and away season after the AFL released the fixtures for Round 23.

Lions CEO Malcolm Holmes said that the 4.40pm timeslot on Sunday, 2 September, was the perfect time for the Club’s ‘Thank You Members’ round at the Gabba.

“The Sunday twilight game is a great time for families to come out and enjoy an afternoon at the football,” Holmes said.

“Round 23 is our ‘Thank You Members’ round - we’ll be thanking our members in various ways throughout the afternoon and 4.40pm is the perfect timeslot for it.”

The Round 23 fixture is released late in the season to allow the AFL to ensure breaks between games for teams playing finals.
