I was feeling relatively positive after my effort in the opening round, but am now left scratching my head after an ordinary Round 2 where I scored just 1,840 Dream Team points.

As a result, I’ve dropped 50 spots in the Lions’ Group and now sit at 313th.

Meanwhile, a team called ‘Bruisers’ has come from nowhere to take the outright lead in the Lions’ League, closely followed by ‘Beaten By A Pommie’ who looks a legitimate contender for this year’s crown.

Only six blokes in my team scored over 100 - including Jack Redden who repaid my faith in him with a score of 105.

I was pleased to hear that Reddo got off his match-day report as well - mainly because it means he will be available to play the Dockers on Saturday, but he’s now also available to line-up for the ‘Polka Specials’ in Round 3.

Brendan Goddard was the shining light for my team in Round 2 with 141 points - but most people have him in their Dream Teams already. In fact, a total of 121,410 teams (around 50% of all registrations) have him in their backline.

Lance Franklin is still the most popular player in the AFL Dream Team - he’s in 158,062 teams. I had a quick check and saw that I’m in 1,747 teams - so thanks to all those who have given me a shot.

Last week my hot tip was to hold onto your trades. I’ve heard they are VERY valuable and should only be used in desperate situations.

Well, I’m getting a bit desperate and might use a couple this week.

Players’ values can change after this week, so I’ll be looking at those guys who have had a couple of cracking weeks and are likely to boost their value.

POLKS’ TIP FOR THE WEEK

IF you want to use a trade or two, I suggest you take a look at Toby Greene from the GWS Giants.

He scored 99 points in Round 1 against Sydney and had around 30 touches last Sunday against North Melbourne. He’s cheap and will rocket up in value after their Round 3 match against West Coast - regardless of whether he gets a kick or not.

Also keep an eye on big Browny. He’s only early $300K’s and is primed for a big season.

I’ll probably be looking at putting him into my side in time for Round 5.
