I just focused on the game. I didn’t think about it too much because I knew the baby wouldn’t come until after the game. Once you cross that white line, all your thoughts are on the game.

He is coming along real well. He’ll be going well in the Best and Fairest I reckon. To see an Irishman come and take on our game so well - I think he’ll be up there with Jim Stynes and Tadgh Keneally.

I’d pick Cyril Rioli. It’d be good for our defenders not to have to chase him around all the time when we play Hawthorn. It’d be nice to not have to worry about that.

Probably Joel Patfull and Dan Merrett. I’ve noticed watching the games back that their bald spots are getting worse than ever.

Question: How are the young fellas going with their bodies? Billy Longer looks huge compared to draft night. How are the others going? I see a couple running around who still look like they need a good feed.
Yeah, the young fellas are building up their strength with our Strength and Conditioning Coach, the great Matt Hass. Billy Longer has put on a lot of weight, though I’m not sure how much of it is muscle. He just lumbers around a lot. The Mad Scientist, Justin Clarke, has also put on a fair bit, but he really needed to. Now he looks like a footballer instead of a skinny country kid like when he first rocked up.
