There’s a lot happening this Saturday for Lions fans in both Brisbane and Melbourne; here’s a one stop supporters' guide to all the weekend’s important footy information.

LIONS RESERVES MATCH

Lions Reserves vs Labrador
Saturday 14 July
Yeronga (Cansdale Street) @ 1:30pm
 

• The high-flying Lions Reserves kick off the days Aussie Rules action against Labrador. 

• The Reserves are currently on top of the ladder, but they’ll face a tough test against the Tigers, who are led by ex-Lion Tim Notting. 

• There are only six rounds until the NEAFL finals, so take the opportunity to see young guns like Sam Docherty, Billy Longer and Jordan Lisle help their side mount a charge towards September.

• The match kicks off at Yeronga (not Coorparoo as originally scheduled) at 1:30pm; be sure to bring a deck chair and a poncho!

LIONS SENIOR MATCH

Brisbane Lions vs St Kilda
Saturday 14 July
7:40 pm @ The Gabba

• The Brisbane Lions sit only one game behind the 8th-placed Saints, and the importance of this clash for both teams cannot be understated.

• Simon Black returns to the side, as does Matt Maguire; who’ll be facing his former club for the first time.

• Livewire Todd Banfield is set to play his first game for two months, Aaron Cornelius will bolster the forward line, and youngster Elliot Yeo will add dash from defence.

WEATHER

• The forecast is a little damp for the main game, with showers expected. 

• It’ll be slightly cool too (around 17°C) so pack a jumper and a rain jacket.

TICKETS

• A big crowd is expected at the game, and tickets are still available from the Ticketmaster website

PUBLIC TRANSPORT 

• You can use public transport to travel free to the Gabba with your match day ticket, and the stadium is within Daniel Rich kicking distance from Woolloongabba station.

• Free shuttle buses will also run from FIVE major locations (Roma St, Adelaide St, Eight Mile Plains, Carindale, Chermside) from 5:40pm. 

Please note there’s also a Super Rugby game in Brisbane on Saturday night, so allow for longer waits at shuttle bus stops.

LION PARK

• The Lion Park is open from 5.30pm until first bounce and includes all the following FREE activities:

• Inflatable AFL activities including speed kick radar, handballing, kicking

• Measure yourself up against Merrett, Karnezis and Leuenberger with the height and, arm span displays 

• Test your hops with the vertical leap test

• Lions Den (all the giveaways you need including goal banners and Match Day Guides which has all the rules you need to know and the names and photos of all the Lions players)

• Bernie's Gabba Gang VIP Pass giveaways and new member signups

INSIDE THE STADIUM

• Devine Photo Booth (free photo)

• Take a seat and join the team photo at the huge wall display inside Gate 9

• Bupa Face in the Crowd (grab a goal banner and listen out at three quarter time for your chance to win the actual match ball signed by Browny and Vossy)

• Pre-game coach interview with Jamie Charman, and half-time interview with Ash McGrath.

• Various activities during the intervals including Auskick participants at half-time and (weather permitting) the famous Gabba kick-to-kick after the game.

MELBOURNE BIG SCREEN & TRIVIA

• Melbourne-based fans can head along to The Oxford Scholar Hotel (located at 427 Swanston Street, CBD) to watch the game LIVE on the big screen with fellow Lions supporters

• Staff from the Lions’ Victorian Office will be running a range of FREE activities (during the breaks in the game) including a trivia competition, and first-goal competition

• The Oxford Scholar is also offering 2012 Lions members a 10% of all meals purchased on the night upon presentation of their membership card
