Rookie Anthony Corrie was today elevated to the Brisbane Lions’ senior list in place of James Hawksley who was placed on the long term injury list two weeks ago with an injured finger.

Corrie has played 31 senior matches and kicked 27 goals in his five seasons with the club.

He earned a NAB Rising Star nomination in 2005 for his four-goal match-winning display against Essendon at the Gabba in Round 17.

He managed only four senior games in 2006 before his season ended prematurely with a serious knee injury. He was subsequently placed on the club’s Rookie List at the end of last year and made his long awaited return for the Suncoast Lions reserves team against Southport at the Gabba last month.

Following his elevation, Corrie is now available for senior selection.
