Rockliff among Dream Team elite
Tom Rockliff will be the fifth most expensive AFL Dream Team player in 2012.
Rockliff will cost AFL Dream Team fans a hefty $554,200 next season, which is a total bettered only by Collingwood pair Dane Swan ($598,300) and Scott Pendlebury ($576,900), Western Bulldogs Captain Matthew Boyd ($573,800) and Gold Coast star Gary Ablett ($554,700).
The Benalla boy’s meteoric rise into Dream Team royalty comes after a prolific 2011 season where he averaged 112.05 points per game, which ranked him fifth overall across the entire AFL competition.
He was also among the most improved performers last year, with his original value increasing by more than $100,000 by season's end.
Prospective Dream Team coaches will no doubt be keeping an eye on the 21 year-old who amassed four scores of 132 points or more last season.
The AFL Dream Team competition is likely to be officially launched in February, with the Lions likely to once again encourage fans to submit a team and test themselves against each other, and some of the actual players.
