Brisbane Lions CEO, Malcolm Holmes, tonight praised BOQ and Conergy for their generous support, following confirmation the Club would have new major partners for the 2013 season.

Holmes told the audience at the Lions’ Club Champion presentation that Brisbane’s long-standing partnership with BOQ and major sponsorship by Conergy had reached a natural conclusion.

Holmes said the Club’s 11-year partnership with BOQ and three-year major partner association with Conergy had been extremely successful.

He said all parties were proud that all strategic partnership objectives set out had been achieved.

“Tonight we say goodbye to two of our great supporters - BOQ and Conergy, as co-major partners,” Holmes told the audience of 600 in attendance.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank both BOQ and Conergy for their support over the years, not only of the Lions, but also the game of AFL in Queensland.

“We’re all extremely proud of our time together and that is the result of saying goodbye with all of our strategic partnership objectives for our major sponsors having been met.”

Presentations on the Lions’ night of nights were made to Greg Abbey, Head of Brand and Marketing from BOQ, and David McCallum, Conergy’s General Manager Australia.

Holmes told the audience the Club would have “some exciting announcements in this space over the course of the off-season that will further the Lions’ recent growth in sponsorship.”

Brisbane has secured double-digit percentage growth in their sponsorship over the past 12 months in spite of tough economic conditions in both the Queensland and Australian market.
