Simon Black and Brendan Fevola have accepted charges handed down to them by the Match Review Panel.

Vice-Captain Black was charged with a first offence of abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards an umpire (Matthew Nicholls) after the final siren of the Round 11 match between the Lions and North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

A first offence for abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards an umpire is a $2600 sanction. However, Black took an early guilty plea which reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to a $1950 sanction.

Meanwhile full-forward Brendan Fevola was been charged with a Level One striking offence against North Melbourne defender Daniel Pratt during the third quarter of last Saturday night's match against the Kangaroos.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 80 demerit points and a reprimand.

With no existing good or bad record, Fevola took an early plea which reduced the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record.
