The Brisbane Lions are set to blood their 11th debutant this season with Josh Dyson named on the interchange bench for Sunday’s clash against the Adelaide Crows at the Gabba.

Dyson, a 181cm goal-kicking midfielder, will join Claye Beams, Ryan Lester, Rohan Bewick, Jared Polec, Broc McCauley, Josh Green, Bryce Retzlaff, Mitch Golby, Patrick Karnezis, and Niall McKeever in making his debut for the Lions this season.

The 19-year-old earned his debut on the back of consistent performances for the Lions Reserves in the NEAFL in 2011.

Dyson was the Lions’ 32nd pick in the 2009 AFL Rookie Draft.

Defender Matt Maguire has been omitted from this week’s side and has been named as an emergency alongside Rohan Bewick and Ryan Harwood.

Tough midfielder Jack Redden will play his 50th AFL game for the Lions on Sunday and will be looking to build further on a terrific season to date.

Lions members and supporters will also get the chance to farewell retired ruckman Jamie Charman.

Charman, who announced his retirement mid-week, will perform a lap of honour prior to the game.
