The Lions hunt for 35,000 members in 2021 has been given a boost, with the Club breaking its all-time membership record today.
Ticking over to 31,000 members this morning, the Lions surpass their previous record of 30,941 achieved in 2004 at the end of the historic 3-peat of Premiership’s.
As part of the Club total, the AFLW membership record has also fallen this year with 1,502 W Members - an additional 151 than the previous record of 1,351 in 2020.
Lions CEO, Greg Swann said it was a record that the whole Club should be very proud of achieving.
“This is a significant milestone for our Club and something that everyone should be proud of especially given the challenging circumstances of the past year.
“It’s reward for effort really, everyone has worked so hard to push this Club forward and this is something that we can all celebrate together ahead of Round 1.
“I’d like to thank all 31,000 of our dedicated and loyal members for continually believing in and showing up for this Club.”
Recently re-signed Lions player, Hugh McCluggage today called our lucky 31,000th member and thanked them personally from MemberHQ.
“The support of our members is definitely one of the best parts about playing for the Lions,”
“We might not have the biggest stadium in the country, but we certainly have the loudest members and it’s always a pleasure to play in front of them!”
The Lions Round 1 doubleheader at the Gabba is close to being a sell-out and the only way to guarantee your seat in 2021 is to become a member, so join the Club in the march to 35,000.
