Kate Lutkins, Sophie Conway, Dakota Davidson and Cathy Svarc have been named in the 2021 AFLW All Australian squad on Wednesday night.
The nomination is Lutkins’ fourth nod, Conway’s second and a first for both Davidson and Svarc.
The four nominations are reward for a team that finished second on the ladder and has been consistently described as a talented team rather than a team of individuals.
Davidson has had a superb second AFLW season, leading the competitions goals for the first half of the season and finishing the regular season with 13 goals in total.
Svarc has earnt the reputation of one of the competitions best taggers often performing the shut-down role on the opposition’s best mids with ease and still finding ways to break open the game with a running goal.
Lutkins and Conway both continue their consistent performances as part of the Lions tight-knit senior group.
The 40-player squad includes players from all 14 AFLW sides in a great coup for the game.
A final team of 21 players including a captain and vice-captain will be announced at the W Awards to be held on Tuesday 20th April, from five different locations around Australia including the SCG, The Gabba, Adelaide Oval, Crown Palladium and Optus Stadium
