Zorko returns for defender Marcus Adams’ 50th game after serving a one-week suspension.
The skipper’s availability has forced coach Chris Fagan and his match committee into a tough decision to omit a player from the hard-fought victory over North Melbourne in Hobart last week.
He said it came down to a decision between young midfielders Deven Robertson and Rhys Mathieson who are both in great form and brought aggression and toughness to the side.
Second year player Robertson held his spot while Mathieson, who came into the side last week to replace Zorko, will head back to the VFL.
“Both those guys have been playing pretty well but they play in the same position as Zorks,’’ he said.
“Dev Robertson is a great tackler and hunts the ball really well, both have made a great contribution to the side over seven or eight weeks, especially when Lachie (Neale) was out of the team.’’
Fagan, who turned 60 today, said a birthday wish would be for a packed and noisy Gabba crowd to make life uncomfortable for the Cats.
“I’m really hopeful that we can get a crowd over 30,000 and that the Lions supporters can make the place a cauldron on our behalf, I know our players would appreciate that,’’ he said.
