Jarrod Berry will make his much-anticipated return to AFL action when the Lions take on the Crows.

The hard-working midfielder has not been seen at senior level since injuring his groin in the 57-point Round 5 win over Essendon.

The 23-year-old returned to the VFL last week where he was one of the few standouts in the heavy loss to Geelong at South Pine Sports Complex.

Senior Coach Chris Fagan said Berry had ticked every box in his recovery and was ready to reclaim his place in the senior side.

“He’s done a solid five to six week block of training, he played a good chunk of game time last week and he performed well enough to be selected in the senior team,’’ he said.

“He’s been right to go for a couple of weeks now, but we decided to hold him back a bit and just get that extra training into him.’’

The clash also sees Jarryd Lyons line up for his 150th AFL game against his former side.

The experienced midfielder spent five years at Adelaide between 2011-2016 before joining the Gold Coast Suns and later, the Brisbane Lions as a delisted free agent.

Veteran Grant Birchall also returns from illness after he was forced to withdraw late from the side that produced a prime-time Thursday night 44-point demolition of Geelong last week.

Irishman James Madden comes out of the side due to a broken hand while young winger Jaxon Prior has been omitted.
