Brisbane will head south to play Hawthorn in Launceston on Sunday, then immediately board a plane bound for Perth to play Fremantle in round 21.

Saturday's come-from-behind win over Gold Coast kept them in fifth place, one win behind Port Adelaide, with four rounds remaining.

While the win over the Suns was a confidence boost, Robinson said the Lions could not afford to gaze too far ahead.

"We've got to try and win every game from now on," he said following Tuesday morning's training session.

"We don't love talking about the top four spot.

"Personally, players understand where that's at, so we just want to win this week.

"We know we've got a big task at hand, but we don't like looking too far into the future."

The last time Brisbane played the Hawks was the opening round of 2020 at an empty MCG just before the season was halted. Hawthorn won comfortably.

However, its record under Chris Fagan in Tasmania is exemplary, winning three times without a loss, including a rousing triumph in 2018 early in their rise to prominence.

Robinson said the Lions used those wins over the Hawks to help build their culture.

"We've travelled down there for our pre-season camps and have trained on that oval … so we're kind of familiar with it," he said.

"That's worked to our advantage and hopefully we go down there and do the same thing again.

"My opinion is the competition is the most even it's been in a long time. You can't take any team lightly.

"We've got to come with the hunter mentality from the start."
