Following a celebrated 211-game career with Hawthorn which included three premierships and a Club Best and Fairest, Gunston signed with the Lions for 2023 as an unrestricted free agent.
The 31-year-old will be a welcome addition to Brisbane’s forward line, having kicked 430 career goals as a three-time leading goal kicker for the Hawks.
Gunston began his AFL career playing 14 games with the Adelaide Crows before moving to Hawthorn where he became one of the competition’s most consistent forwards – this was recognised with All-Australian honours in 2018.
An interesting fact about Gunston is he made his AFL debut for the Crows against the Brisbane Lions in Round 9, 2010.
