Students will obtain a high level understanding of the AFL industry, gaining valuable experience in a wide range of areas from membership, game development, media, coaching, community engagement and much more across both the Brisbane Lions and wider AFL industry.

TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) will be delivering training and assessment for Diploma of Sport and Diploma of Leadership and Management (SIS50321 / BSB50420) Students need to successfully complete all 19 units listed to receive both qualifications.

By completing the Diploma of Sport and Diploma of Leadership and Management (SIS50321 / BSB50420) as part of the Brisbane Lions and TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) partnership, students will have access to a nationally-recognised suite of diploma-to-degree pathways.

Graduates will receive up to one year of credit for a degree in some of Australia’s leading universities, including Bond University, including the Bachelor of Sport Development, Bachelor of Sport Management and Bachelor of Business with a major on Sport Management. ​

Choosing a diploma-degree pathway means that graduates are academically well prepared for bachelor study and have the work skills and experience to start their dream career in a shorter time frame.

Yes, you will need to provide a transcript for units undertaken at another training provider. Where eligible, credit transfers can be applied to any units that fits the criteria. Contact us via the enquiry page to find out more.

Face to face classes for 2 days a week at the home of the Brisbane Lions, Brighton Homes Arena. Virtual classes or self-directed time for approximately 6 hours per week. Prep reading and assessment completion for approximately 8 hours per week.

The next intake is scheduled to commence in July 2024.
