The Brisbane Lions are deeply saddened by the loss of Former Fitzroy Player, and Brisbane Lions Life Member, Keith Webb, who passed away aged 88 yesterday morning.
Recruited originally from Preston District, Webb played 47 games across eight seasons with Fitzroy between 1953-61.
He donned the number 35 in just two matches during his first season, before switching to the #12 for the remainder of his career.
Apart from his debut season, where he wore the number 35 jumper, he wore the number 12 jumper, which was later worn by our Team of Our Century interchange player, Michael Conlan.
He was a popular player at Fitzroy and later served our Club, and also the VFL, in various administrative capacities – which culminated him in being awarded Life Membership in 1963.
