The Brisbane Lions will unveil their fifth debutant for the season when they take on Carlton at the Gabba this Saturday night.
Sam Michael, recruited to the Lions with Queensland Priority Selection (Pick No.96 overall) at the 2011 AFL Rookie Draft, has been named to play his first senor game in the Lions’ Round 9 side. Michael was this week elevated to the Lions’ Senior list in place of Claye Beams who has been placed on the long term injury list.
The 19-year-old Queenslander comes into the side after being awarded the Zane Taylor Medal as the NEAFL Northern Conference’s best player in this month’s State game at West Adelaide.
Michael has been named in the side along with Josh Green. They replace the suspended duo of Daniel Merrett and Justin Clarke.
Brisbane Lions’ Co-Captain Jed Adcock will play his 150th game on Saturday night, since debuting for the Lions in 2004.
