The Brisbane Lions have selected a 36-player squad for Thursday night’s match simulation against the Gold Coast SUNS and Collingwood at People First Stadium.
In their first pre-season match against opposition, the Lions will play the opening two quarters of the night against Collingwood, followed by two quarters against the SUNS.
Two key inclusions for their first pre-season appearance for the Lions will be Co-Vice Captain Hugh McCluggage and father-son draftee Levi Ashcroft.
Callum Ah Chee and Charlie Cameron will return after playing in last week’s AFL Indigenous All Stars game against Fremantle, while the Lions have also added VFL-listed defender Harry Arnold.
Our two-quarter clash with Collingwood is scheduled to get underway at 5:02pm, before meeting with the SUNS at approximately 6:15pm for two quarters.
This match simulation will also be a solid hit-out for the Lions in preparation for next Thursday’s practice match when they host Adelaide at Brighton Homes Arena.
