Tough Brisbane Lions midfielder Mitch Robinson is set for foot surgery and won't play another game for the season.
Robinson, 27, was injured in the round seven loss to Sydney and had been a chance to return for the final few rounds of the year.
However, Lions coach Chris Fagan told News Corporation that Robinson's right foot hadn't been healing properly, despite the former Blue spending time in a moon boot.
"Robinson is gone for the season," Fagan said.
"The bone is healing, but where the bone and ligament is attached, there is damage. He has to have that repaired."
Robinson played seven games for the season and is on 149 career matches overall.
