Brisbane Lions AFLW midfielder Maria Moloney has informed the Club that she would like to pursue an opportunity at another AFLW club.
Moloney, 27, was drafted to the Lions from University of Queensland (QAWFL) and debuted in the 2020 NAB AFLW season.
The inside-mid has played 11 games at the elite level and has developed a reputation as a contested ball winner with good aerobic capacity.
Lions AFLW Senior Coach Craig Starcevich described Moloney as a high-quality player and person who will be an asset to a new club.
“Maria is a high-quality person and player who has been unlucky not to have had more opportunity in such a strong side over the last couple of seasons,” Starcevich said.
“We’re sure she’ll be a great asset on and off the field at her new club.
“We’d like to thank her and wish her all the best for the future."
