A battle on the M1 awaits the Brisbane Lions VFL side this Saturday when they head down the Coast to face the Southport Sharks.
After suffering several hard losses to the Sharks last season and an even one-all battle in their two 2022 pre-season matches, the Lions will be on the hunt a strong win over the 2021 Minor Premiers.
Jack Payne and Tom Fullarton will bring an added boost of experience to the VFL side, returning from senior duties this weekend.
Harry Sharp's dash and gut-running will be a valuable addition to the team, after missing last weekend as a travelling emergency in Tasmania.
While emerging talents Darcy Wilmot and Jimmy Tunstill as well as developing players Toby Triffett and Tahj Abberley will all be put to the test against the quality opponent.
Southport have only dropped two games this season, while the Lions will be searching for their fifth straight win after a scare against Williamstown in the wet last weekend.
