Sharpless was appointed Chairman following the resignation of Angus Johnson, who departed the Club along with fellow Directors Paul Williams and Linda Nash.
By Thursday morning, the Lions had already moved on from the so-called ‘Boardroom Battle’, with Sharpless fronting the media for the first time alongside new Football Director Leigh Matthews.
Sharpless said the Lions can now look forward to a fresh start.
“The resolution we reach were unanimous and it has the AFL support which is important,” Mr Sharpless said.
“The Board memebrs that are leaving are leaving on good terms. The end result is a very positive position for the Club.
“Now that the Board is unified, there is some work we can do with confidence. We understand there are a couple of issues that still need to be resolved, and we’ll tidy that up at the AGM.”
Sharpless said the AFL’s support in the matter was considerable and would come with a financial package of around $1.8 million to spend on football operations.
