The Brisbane Lions are expected to announce the process to be undertaken in appointing a new senior coach in the coming days.

The Club confirmed on Wednesday that Michael Voss’ successor had not been appointed, however a number of potential candidates had already been approached.

Chairman Angus Johnson said the decision to find a new coach to lead the Lions beyond 2013 had not been a rash one.

“We’ve gone through a pretty thorough process, and that includes identifying potential candidates, and there’s more than one,” Mr Johnson said.

“Within the next few days we’ll be outlining process, timeframes and going into more detail.

“The decision on who’ll be the next coach will be made by the Board. I’m confident that we’ll make the right appointment.”

Johnson also quashed any rumours that Paul Roos had already committed to the Club, but admitted that the former Fitzroy Captain would be among the handful of individuals contacted regarding the position.
