The newest additions to the Brisbane Lions AFLW squad are getting settled in at the den, with their guernsey numbers for Season 7 unveiled.
Aspley products Ella Smith and Charlie Mullins will compete in #26 and #28, respectively.
Gold Coast talent Dee Heslop will wear the #23, while Kiara Hillier will become the first Brisbane Lions AFLW player to don the #32.
AFLW Head Coach Craig Starcevich said that the guernsey numbers give the team’s newest talent a chance to make their own mark at the Club.
“There’s plenty of history in our jumper numbers now, given we’ve been involved in five Finals Series and three Grand Finals over the last six seasons,” Starcevich said.
“Players will have the chance to get a sense of that history when we move out to Brighton Homes Arena where the names of former players who have left their mark on the Club will be represented on the corresponding lockers.
“These players now have their chance to make their mark on the Club in their new guernsey numbers.
“We hope that when they are presented their guernseys in a few weeks that it reminds them of how fortunate they are to be given the opportunity to play at our Club and encourages them make the most of their time at the Lions.”
