WITH only two games to go, lions.com.au looks at what’s ahead in the Brisbane Lions’ bid for a finals spot.

Round 21:
Adelaide (AAMI Stadium)
Record: 10-10, 10th
Last five: LLWLW.
Formline: The Crows have lost three of their past five games, but one of those losses was a relatively “narrow” (33-point) defeat by Geelong. The wins were at the expense of second-placed Port Adelaide in Round 18 and the Western Bulldogs on the weekend. Adelaide now sits equal on 40 points with the Lions but trails on percentage. Skipper Mark Ricciuto has announced this will be his last year, so his teammates will be keen to extend his finale well into September.

Round 22:

Geelong (the Gabba)
Record: 17-3, first
Last five: WWWWW
Formline: The Cats notched another record on the weekend, posting a 15th straight win – a new club benchmark for consecutive victories within a season. Geelong hasn’t lost since its round five defeat by the Kangaroos. The Cats got their revenge on Sunday at Docklands, fighting off a spirited Roos comeback to post a 27-point win. Cam Mooney booted five goals to take his season’s tally to a career-best 50.
