Brisbane Lions AFLW forward Sabrina Frederick-Traub has today informed the Club of her desire to play for a Victorian-based team in the 2020 AFLW season.

Frederick-Traub, twice named All-Australian, informed the Club of her decision after a meeting yesterday.

The request has come due to her desire to be closer to her partner’s family.

Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock thanked Frederick-Traub for her contribution to the Lions as a foundation player.

“We’ve loved having Sabs on the journey with us and she will be missed. As with anything in life you have to do what’s right for you and your family, and we certainly respect that,” Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock said.

“While it is disappointing, this will open up opportunities for the young and developing girls on our list and those wanting to come to Brisbane.”
